Simon: I've thought about getting married. It's not what I want, it comes from this fear of being alone.
Lily: I don't think good things come from being motivated by fear.
Simon: I agree. I don't need to be the number one person in anyone's life. I just don't want to ALWAYS come after someone else. I'm used to people cancelling plans with me to spend time with their romantic partners, or even strangers they could potentially date. I don't want to sound entitled or like I'm blaming anyone. Pairing off is SO important to practically everyone else that if I don't do it, I'm left behind.
