(Simon is teaching a class)
Simon: This is an Asion Tiger mosquito. You've probably had some irritating encounters with these. They lay their eggs in any small space that collects standing water, like watering cans, old tires, and empty water bottles. One reason this species is so pervasive is because humans provide the perfect habitat for them. A lot of the stuff we do alters ecosystems in ways most people aren't aware of. And sometimes it comes back to bite us.
